At the heart of the MIPI® Alliance specifications framework, these physical layers (“PHYs”) are fast, compact, and extremely cost-optimized. And true to the modular nature of MIPI, a single physical layer is able to operate with multiple protocol layers. This creates both an opportunity and a challenge for anyone implementing a MIPI high-speed link. On one hand, the ability to mix and match varied protocol layers with varied physical layers allows for innovation and creativity; and on the other, this means that the physical layer has to be properly specified, designed, and verified.

Introspect Technology has created the most complete tool set for addressing the design, verification, and high-volume manufacturing of all MIPI Alliance physical layers: Whether it is a D-PHY℠ interface on a display link, a C-PHY℠ interface on a camera link, or a M-PHY℠ interface on a memory link, our tools are able to characterize and exercise such links with high sophistication and tremendous ease of use.
